Media Person of the Year
Brian's outdoor advertising experience goes back more than 15 years including a position with Obie Media as General Manager of all California properties in 1998. He left Obie Media to start his own business in late 2002. The now owner of Atwell Media Services, Inc. is married with two children, ages 4 and 5. Brian believes the main focus of his company to be client centered and provide superior and reliable service to all of his clients, regardless of company size.
Brian is conversant in Spanish and German. He has many hobbies and is an avid reader, outdoorsman, fisherman and athlete. Brian is actively involved in the National Campaign for Tolerance, along with the Northern Leukemia Society of California, which does research for the illness that took his father from him when he was very young. He is a current member of the Sacramento Metro Chamber and a past member of WEAVE-Sacramento and People Reaching Out.
During Brian's time in the media industry he has had the opportunity to work with a number of creative people both in the agency world and business community at large. He believes that creativity in the "outdoor" medium is the most essential aspect to any campaign. Brian admires a large group of people in Sacramento and surrounding areas that are able to adjust their thinking to "less is more." Brian joined the Sacramento Ad Club because of this idea. "I have never worked with such a talented group of people from all walks of life," Brian said. He believes that keeping our community informed and networking with people from all types of people is the key to understanding where we are today and where we are headed. "I"d like to play a role in steering that ship!" he said.
As a member of the Sacramento Ad Club, Brian has assisted with the annual golf tournament and co-chaired the Addy Awards. As a current board member with the Ad Club he says, "I have had the privilege to work with an outstanding group of individuals whose overall objective is to provide a bond between members of the advertising profession, the business community and its' members."
